The Chaplin Custom Hand Made Beaver Fur Felt Bowler Derby Movie Hat
The classic bowler hat made famous by Charlie Chaplin was commonly associated with businessmen working in the financial districts, also known as “City Gents”. The bowler hat became a trademark of many comic actors starting with Charlie Chaplin and carried on by John Cleese, Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy to name a few.
In the 1964 movie Goldfinger, Auric Goldfinger’s manservant Oddjob uses his razor-edged bowler hat as a weapon. They’re worn — to great chilling effect — by the sociopathic Alex DeLarge and his gang of “droogs” in Stanley Kubrick’s brilliant adaptation of Anthony Burgess’ (equally brilliant) dystopian novella.
Inset picture shows the hat with no soiling – make your selection during the checkout process.

In Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid both Paul Newman and Robert Redford wear a bowler at points in the movie. Seems like villains prefer the bowler after being made famous by comedians.
